Priva Building Intelligence Ltd, a leading supplier of
building control systems, has scooped - through its
Partners and employees - several major
prizes at the well-regarded Building Controls Industry Association
(BCIA) Awards 2011.
Priva Partner Keep Keen Controls Ltd was awarded
Technical Innovation of the Year (Project) for its work at
low-carbon Leeds development, Greenhouse. At the lavish BCIA Awards
ceremony, which was held on 12 May 2011 at the St John's Hotel,
Solihull, Priva's Pep Niemeijer was also honoured as Engineer of
the Year. The night's success didn't stop there - additionally,
Priva Partner, Novac Controls, was named Independent Systems
Installer of the Year.
Priva has made a name for itself in building control systems by
offering cutting-edge technology to regulate the indoor environment
of commercial and residential buildings and horticultural
greenhouses, effectively minimising energy and water use.
One of Priva's successful and recent building controls
projects- and the reason for its big win at the BCIA Awards - is
Greenhouse, a development of sustainable offices and homes in
Leeds. Using state-of-the-art building control technology from
Priva, occupants of the low-impact building are able to quickly and
simply access information about their own energy and water
consumption through their TV screens. Working alongside its partner
organisation, Keep Keen Controls, and Greenhouse developer, Citu,
Priva contributed technology that has helped to create a
ground-breaking green development.
Demonstrating that Priva's team is world-class, Pep Niemeijer,
one of the company's Technical Specialist, was also named the
BCIA Awards 2011 Engineer of the Year. He brings to the table
expert knowledge of mechanical plant control strategies and
experience as an electrician to analyse and solve client problems.
The BCIA Awards judges were impressed by Pep's dedication to using
his knowledge and experience to help others and to leave a good
impression with end-users.
Anders Norén, Managing Director of Priva, comments: "The team at
Priva are honoured that we - and our partner companies, Keep Keen
Controls and Novac Controls - were able to claim a hat-trick of
wins at a major industry celebration of best practice. Despite the
difficult economic times, these award wins prove that there is
still a thriving market for innovative technology that helps people
to reduce their energy and water consumption."
